Mediums with no messages and dress codes

Postby D.J. Gillespie » December 12th, 2009, 9:23 pm

Am I alone in thinking that offering flicking, twitting, facebiking and forumaging is likely to create barriers to engagement rather than encourage it, segment rather than unite? To those of us who think that managing to log on is the pinnacle of technological mastery and in the process exhaust limited patience, the prospect of checking multiple locations makes the turbo seem attractive.

But that is not the issue:

How can I possibly ride the Beag wearing my specially purchased La Vie Claire, Mondrian inspired retro chic top under a flapping bib? I suppose that a yellowing semmit will suffice.

But you will see me in my glory when I ship up in Skye to collect my mug. The islanders are a civilised and open minded people who welcome mutton dressed as lamb in the name of sport and pageant and shun uniformity. Stop over and be tempted by Talisker.

Dear D

I have been busy deciding which twitt to flick...

Please be certain that any form of communication you use we will do our best to reply...

Looking forward to seeing you in Skye and if you are around on the night after the event a Talisker would be nice!
