Which Class for me?

There are five classes as described below. The routes have been designed to allow a wide range of participation; however none of them will follow paths and given the possible weather conditions, the event is not suitable for hill walking beginners.

The Staticstics below are typical of previous events and should be regarded only as a guide to this years event.

The A Class will usually provide competitors with an additional mental challenge such as competitors in past years competitors have been required to choose which order they visit controls in.

Score Class
Day 1 7 Hours
Day 2 5 Hours

Competitors accumulate points from the controls they visit during the time allowance. Points are deducted at a rate of 2 per minute (or part minute) for late finishers.

A day 1 30.25km + 1600m ascent
A day 2 24.75km + 1200m ascent

B day 1 27.5km + 1300m ascent
B day 2 22.5km + 1100m ascent

C day 1 24.75km + 1100m ascent
C day 2 20.25km + 900m ascent

D day 1 22km + 1000m ascent
D day 2 18km + 800m ascent

From this information you should assess your own level of fitness and choose a course that you feel you are comfortable with.  On the entry form online you will be asked to provide some examples of previous events or experience.
