"Because our event is relatively small (but perfectly formed), we are able to take it to more exciting and intimate venues than is usually the case with the bigger mountain marathons. Ullapool is close to some of the country's most iconic mountain areas, so we can promise that competitors will not be disappointed by the scenery. And we have a little surprise this year which will keep everyone on their toes right to the end!"
"Just north of Ullapool are the relatively low lying hills of Coigach, such as the fascinating sandstone spires of Stac Pollaidh and Beinn Mor Coigach.
South East by a few miles is the rolling Beinn Dearg range, with its high level tundra, remote cliffs and deep glens.
A little further south are the loftier Fannaichs, grassy but shapely and further to the west lies An Teallach ("the forge"), one of the country's finest, roughest and most striking peaks, and its satellites.
The Highlander could be in any of these areas surrounding Ullapool this year so sign up now and experience a Highland adventure at its finest.
